This golf course is part of The Ritz-Carlton, Abama resort situated 20 mins from the main resorts in the south of Tenerife.
Abama Golf has quickly earned a reputation a one of the finest courses in the whole of Spain. The resort was acquired by the Ritz Carlton group in June 2007.
The 6232 metre par 72 course ( designed by Dave & Mark Thomas ) is packed with wonderful assortment of trees (25,000 in total) and the most beautiful flowering shrubs. Sitting amongst all this there are 22 lakes and several waterfalls, along with a panoramic back drop of the island of Gomera out to sea. The course rises to a height of 315 metres above sea level then flows back down to a level of 78 metres above sea level.
The course is open from 8am till 8pm – 365 days of the year with tee times at 12 minute intervals.
Other facilities include practice area, chipping green, putting green and golf academy.
Although the green fees are higher than most, it is an experience that should not be missed, as this course in its first year was awarded the prestigious Rheingolf Golf award.
The club house has all the facilities you would expect of a course of this standard.
